Background of

Hānai iā Leeward

A word from Kalei Ruiz!

Special thanks to Kalei for taking time to talk about and spread the knowledge by educating us on our program, Hānai iā Leeward! In this short video, he talks about a brief background on our program and how to pronounce it!

In 2018, the Student Life Office created Hānai iā Leeward (meaning "to nourish" in 'Ōlelo Hawai'i), Leeward Community College's on-campus food pantry. It is designed to help students better succeed in their academic career by offering access to food for a more balanced diet.

Our locations are:

  • The AD 230 for the Pu'uloa [Pearl City] campus

  • Room #121 for the Wai'anae Moku campus

Contact us to learn more about what you can do to help, and become a part of the change by donating or volunteering today.
